Oh my goodness – I don’t know how many of you have just been watching South Today, but they covered the story of a grandfather who, to say is Disney obsessed, is the understatement of the year. He always fancied himself as a Peter Pan (we all know someone like that…) and his granddaughter was always a Tinkerbell fan. So he did the obvious……tell the Disney story on his body….in tattoos!! His legs, arms and back are literally covered in Disney scenes and characters. Current cost of this ‘hobby’ - £8,000!!!
The funniest part was his wife’s statement - “I wasn’t a great fan of tattoos” she said, “Now I’ve fallen in love with them..”. Not much choice there darling!
Anyway, the story finishes with the observation that his chest is, to date, tattoo free. Allegedly he wants to decorate this with Dumbo….and the trunk goes where exactly…??!!
So – what are your favourite Disney classics?
My Mum always reminds me that I cried in Bambi aged 5, so I vote for that, though I don't think I've seen it since.
ReplyDeleteNever mind that though, talking of bad tattoos, did you see this bloke a few years ago:

Brilliant!
Aaah - so sweet! That information may have to be fed to your best man.....
ReplyDeleteI remember crying in the Jungle Book when Baloo got hit on the head with a coconut and we thought he was dead....!
Thanks for the Harry Potter tattoo man link - it does definitely take all sorts....
I used to cry at Bambi too when he couldnt sing, and the birds were trying to teach him... apparently..sian
ReplyDeleteSian - you're going to have to get your own account - you're doing nothing for Chris's reputation! Though it is amusing imagining him sitting at home crying at bambi learning to sing!
ReplyDeleteMy fave's The Jungle Book - great characters and killer soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, these days it always reminds me of the French Connection bar in Meribel, circa 1990, when house band the Avant Gardeners would play their version of I Wanna Be Like You during their Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon happy hour set. I'd sneak out from under a pile of dirty pots, pans and dishes in the Bellevue hotel kitchen to have a beer and a bop before going back to 'plonge' afternoon tea.
Only downside of the Jungle Book was the snake (Kaa) - I hate snakes and even a Disney one scared me!
Hi, I saw the Disney Tattoo Man on South Today and thought blimey they really must be hard up for news! As for favourite Disney films... and yes have seen a few... I think maybe that Bambi and Jungle Book were big before I was 10 which is why I like them too. Having sat through a load when the girls were little favourites include The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers, The Fox and the Hound... and more
